Pride Around Hands

Have you experienced hate in Tanzania? Do you need help?

LGBT Voice can help you with all these situations:

  • Hate Crime – A hate crime can include verbal or written abuse, harassment, or physical violence. We can give you a space to talk. We can negotiate with your landlord, employer, family members, or find you legal advice. If you want the police to know, we can make a report for you and liaise with the police on your behalf. If you prefer, you can make a report anonymously.
  • Abuse At Home – LGBT Voice is a safe space to talk and think about what you want, away from pressure at home.  We can help you explore your options, plan to make you safer, look for safe housing, and speak with the police.
  • Sexual Abuse and Violence – We help people who have been forced into sex, didn’t agree to what happened, or are unsure how they feel about it. That might be from a stranger or someone you know well. We won’t pressure you, and will follow your lead.
  • Problems With the Police – The police are to keep law and order, but things don’t always go the way they should. LGBT Voice can help put problems right with the police. We can give advice and options or make a formal complaint on your behalf.

LGBT Voice Tanzania AfricaWe will never pressure you into taking action you aren’t comfortable with, and we won’t share your information without your consent. Maybe you have already tried to get help from the police or others. Maybe you’re not sure what’s happening, or you’ve been dissatisfied with the response.

We can fight your corner. We’ll help you get what you need or record what happened. We will advocate for you, meaning we’ll act on your behalf and try our hardest to ensure the outcome you need. We can also advocate for you by obtaining help from other organizations. Wezesha is here for you.
